The Vox Volvo P1800 - a modern reworking of the original with a 550bhp V8
Vöcks latest creation – The Vox Volvo P1800 -is based on the iconic Volvo P1800, which those of a certain age will remember was driven by Roger Moore’s Saint back in the ’60s. In its day the P1800 was something of a revelation – a sporty, appealing Volvo (come to think of it, it’s still a bit of a revelation!). Vöcks has remained faithful to the original P1800, at least in style.
The new Lexus IS - previewed at this year’s Paris Motor Show by the Lexus LF-CC Concept – will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2013. Lexus effectively previewed the new IS with the Lexus LF-CC Concept (above) at the Paris Motor show in September (although that really previews a new Lexus IS Coupe to follow) so we know the new IS is going to follow the current Lexus path of producing good looking cars (like the latest Lexus GS). This time round it looks like Lexus are going to offer a hybrid IS 3000 as the route to the heart of fleet buyers in Europe with a 2.5 litre petrol four-cylinder mated to the usual box of batteries and motor, all running through a CVT ‘box (sadly).
The University of Cincinnati (UC) Transportation Design Studio displayed two projects over the summer. Sponsored by Acura and DaimlerChrysler, the projects consisted of two ten-week quarters divided by professional practice. The first quarter of the projects involved 2D exterior theme development of a diverse range of crossover vehicles for the year 2015.
